Prince Harry is reportedly “uneasy” with life in California, the place he has called home since quitting royal life in 2020, according to a royal author. Six years ago, Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duty and made the move across the pond.
This is because The Duke of Sussex is not used to the celebrity spotlight, which him and Meghan have found themselves under.
Talking about the duke, 41, Andersen told Us Weekly that Harry is “somewhat uneasy” in California, while “Meghan embraces that life more.”
He said: “People often forget that Harry is at his core an army officer. He’s all about structure, honor and duty — things that are missing from his life in Montecito.”
He said: “Harry has always said the door remains open to some sort of relationship with the royal family.”
He continued: “Meghan’s focused on their life in Montecito, but he’s holding out hope that he can eventually divide his time between California and the UK.”
He said at an event: “I very much enjoy living here and bringing my kids up here. It’s a part of my life that I never thought I was going to live.
“I feel as though it’s the life that my mum wanted for me. To be able to do the things I’m able to do with my kids that I undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to do in the UK — it’s huge. That is a fantastic opportunity and I’m hugely grateful for that.”
