A man has died after being pulled from the water at Pilot Bay Beach, Mount Maunganui, on Saturday morning.
A police spokesperson said officers attended the scene.
Police were notified of the incident, where a man had been pulled from the water unconscious, about 8.20am.
“Sadly, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene,” the spokesperson said.
The death has been referred to the coroner.
