Kathmandu has designed the apparel for New Zealand at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, marking the Kiwi-born brand’s first appearance on the Olympic stage and the pair’s four-year deal.
Created in Aotearoa, the uniform collection has been tested in New Zealand’s mountains, snow, and winter conditions. It will serve as the training, village, and ceremonial wardrobes for the New Zealand Team at Milano Cortina 2026.
“I think Kathmandu has done a fantastic job with its first uniform – our team has already been packing it in the bags, bound for Italy,” said Nicki Nicol, CEO of the New Zealand Olympic Committee.
“The athletes collaborated closely with the NZOC and Kathmandu to ensure the design delivers on both style and performance.”
Partnering with the New Zealand Team for the Winter Olympics is a proud milestone for Kathmandu. Every piece of the uniform, from gear worn in the village to the ceremony outfits, was designed with input from the athletes themselves.”
Through repeated feedback loops and real-world trials, Kathmandu has tested, adapted, and refined each garment to showcase both performance requirements and athlete identity.
Designed with the same look and feel, the collection, including t-shirts, trousers, hoodies, outerwear, and accessories, features Fern performance, durability, and sustainability.
For sustainability, specific pieces like the Epiq Down Parka use predominantly 70 per cent recycled nylon, and the Pwdr Days range is made with tough, single-fibre polyester for efficient end-of-life recycling.
The Athletes’ Opening Ceremony jackets will feature a QR code badge linking to the digital platform ‘Go All Out’, which features messages of support from New Zealanders and fans.
The full collection is available on the Kathmandu’s New Zealand Team collection page and in selected stores nationwide.
