Damian Lane has picked up the key ride on Tentyris in the Group 1 Lightning Stakes next month.

With Mark Zahra set for a stint on the sidelines, Sam Freedman said Lane would reunite with their star colt on February 14.

Lane rode Tentyris when he finished second in the Blue Diamond Stakes.

“Mark has been really transparent – he’s obviously still waiting on scans (on a leg fracture) – but Damian Lane has been booked to ride him,” Freedman told Racing.com on Tuesday morning.

“He’ll have a sit on him in the next week, or so.

“I think he is pretty excited to get on him.”

Freedman also confirmed Jamie Melham would ride the exciting Point Barrow in the G1 Oakleigh Plate (1100 metres) on February 21.

Point Barrow will target that race first-up and is expected to carry just 50 kilograms.
