A batch of Forbidden Fruits character posters introduce Lili Reinhart (“Riverdale”) as Apple, Lola Tung (“The Summer I Turned Pretty”) as Pumpkin, Victoria Pedretti (“The Haunting of Hill House”) as Cherry, and Alexandra Shipp (Tragedy Girls) as Fig.
Following its premiere at SXSW in Austin, Texas, in March, the horror comedy is due in theaters this year from Independent Film Company and Shudder.
It follows Free Eden employee Apple, who secretly runs a witchy femme cult in the basement of the mall store after hours with fellow fruits Cherry and Fig. But when new hire Pumpkin challenges their performative sisterhood, the women are forced to face their own poisons or succumb to a bloody fate.
Emma Chamberlain and Gabrielle Union (Bring It On) round out the cast.
Meredith Alloway makes her feature directorial debut from a script she co-wrote with Lily Houghton, adapted from Houghton’s play Of the Women Came the Beginning of Sin, and Through Her We All Die.
Jennifer’s Body and Juno scribe Diablo Cody produces alongside Mason Novick (Jennifer’s Body), Mary Anne Waterhouse (Fear Street: Prom Queen), and Trent Hubbard.
Executive producers include Charlie Traisman, Katherine Romans, Rachel Douglas, Casey Durant, Neil Parris, Randy Manis, and Fallon Siegler.
