The U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnik stated that Europe’s response to tariffs imposed by the United States will cause “tariff escalation”, but in the end everything will be resolved at the negotiating table.

Lutnik added that similar threats had been voiced before when President Trump first imposed tariffs on goods from the EU, but both sides eventually reached a new trade agreement.
