In the absence of any real updates on Season 3, fans of Solo Leveling were thrilled when the series announced a live-action adaptation was in the works. Despite Netflix’s hit-or-miss reputation with live-action anime adaptations, Netflix’s continued success with live-action One Piece and Solo Leveling’s stacked cast have created hope.

Adding to this is the speed at which the Solo Leveling live-action series has been progressing. According to recent reports, Solo Leveling’s live-action is expected to begin filming in April 2026, and it seems the series’ main star, Byeon Woo-seok, is all ready to step in as Jinwoo.

Solo Leveling’s Live-Action Star Channels E-Rank Jinwoo

Byeon Woo-seok, who is set to play Sung Jinwoo in Netflix’s live-action Solo Leveling recently made an appearance in Milan at Prada Fashion Week 2026. The Lovely Runner star was seen sporting a new look that has Solo Leveling fans in particular buzzing, as it seems like he may already be growing out his hair to better resemble E-rank Jinwoo.

While Jinwoo is best known for his short hair, his long, shaggy hair at the start of the series is also unforgettable and Byeon Woo-seok already seems to be nailing the look.

When the casting was initially announced, there was no doubt that he already looked the part to play Jinwoo, especially after the latter’s glow-up. That said, Woo-seok’s latest appearance proves he can also bring timid E-rank Jinwoo to life. Of course, now all that remains is to see how Netflix deals with making him appear shorter during the earlier story arcs.

Netflix’s Live-Action Solo Leveling: Everything We Know So Far

E rank Jinwoo from Solo Leveling with Byeon Woo-seok

Solo Leveling’s live-action was first officially announced back in July 2025, which is also when it was revealed that Byeon Woo-seok would be playing Sung Jinwoo. So far, two other cast members have been revealed, namely Han So-hee, who will be playing Cha Hae-in and Kang You-seok, who has been cast as Yoo Jinho.

The live-action series has yet to officially announce a release date, or even a rough release window. That said, a recent job listing has revealed that the series will have seven episodes, and will begin filming in April 2026. The shorter episode count is certainly troubling, but it also means that filming and production might not take as long.

All that to say, there’s currently a huge dearth of new Solo Leveling content, and as such, many more eyes are on the live-action series than usual. Considering the anime’s popularity, Netflix might have a mega hit on its hands that could leave even the likes of Squid Game in the dust. That is, if it can do the series justice.
