Rochelle DeAnna McLean says that she has had “one hell of [a] week” after being hospitalized for a pinched colon.
The estranged wife of AJ McLean opened up about the scary experience on Instagram
“I basically went straight into surgery after that to have the compromised part of my colon removed and the healthy sections sewn back together again,” Rochelle said
AJ McLean‘s estranged wife, Rochelle DeAnna McLean, has had “one hell of [a] week” after being hospitalized for a pinched colon.
Next to a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed with a thumbs up, Rochelle revealed to her nearly 100,000 Instagram followers on Friday, Jan. 23, that she’s currently hospitalized, noting “it’s been one hell of [a] week over here.”
According to Rochelle, she arrived at the ER on Tuesday morning, “with an extremely bloated belly and pain on my right side of my abdomen.”

“Thinking it was my appendix, I came to the emergency room to be sure,” she said. “I ended up showing cecal volvulus in my ct scan. A twisted pinched colon.”
Healthline describes cecal volvulus as a rare form of intestinal obstruction that “occurs when the cecum, which is between the small bowel and colon, detaches from the abdominal wall and twists on itself.”
Symptoms include abdominal distension, severe abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, and vomiting.

“I basically went straight into surgery after that to have the compromised part of my colon removed and the healthy sections sewn back together again,” Rochelle said. “Truly something I’d never even heard of happening.”
Rochelle advised her followers to “listen to your body when something doesn’t feel right.”
“Had this gone on longer and untreated, the outcome could have been very different,” she continued. “Hoping I get to go home this evening! Take care of yourselves out there 🤍 And also… A big thank you to the surgeons, drs and nurses who have taken such great care of me this week! My hero’s 🤩🤍✨.”
Rochelle and AJ jointly announced in January 2024 that they had called it quits, following a temporary separation in March 2023.

However, neither has filed for divorce, and AJ has been open that his “fingers are crossed” for a reconciliation. Earlier this month, Rochelle shared a selfie of the two as she congratulated the singer on his new solo album.
The duo, who married in December 2011, share two children: Elliott, 11, and Lyric, 7.

“We are the best of friends, and honestly, we’re in the best place I think we’ve ever been,” AJ told PEOPLE about him and Rochelle in Sept. 2024, adding, “We love each other and that’s never going to change.”
