The dating scene can be a very small world when you’re famous. So small, apparently, that your boyfriend’s ex might be none other than Bethenny Frankel. At the very least, that’s the case for Jennifer Aniston, who’s been spending lots of time and double dates with popular Hollywood hypnotist Jim Curtis. In an episode of her podcast Just B With Bethenny on Wednesday, Frankel said she and Curtis were romantically involved about ten years ago.

Frankel didn’t say how long they were together and said she wouldn’t “get into too much detail out of respect for [Aniston] and her relationship.” The good news is she had nothing but positive things to say about Curtis, remembering him as a “nice guy” and a “handsome, nice man” who “seems kind.” She’s really rooting for him and Aniston as a couple. “I am Team Jennifer Aniston and Jim Curtis, and I would bet on them,” she said. “I think this is good. I like it, and I’m happy for her and for him, who, like I said, I thought was a lovely man.”

A glowing endorsement. So why didn’t it work out for Frankel and Curtis? Well, it sounds like she wasn’t into his whole spiritual-coaching deal. Curtis is very into “the wellness space,” which Frankel said was something she “didn’t really understand.” But different strokes for different folks, and Frankel seems to think Aniston’s “earthy, mellow side” would mesh well with Curtis. “She’s an actual, true California girl, and while he is not a California guy, he vibes with that wellness talk and it’s very Hollywood and very actor,” she said, noting that this was “not a diss, it’s just a fact.”

Tactfully put. Should Jen and her hypnotist get more serious, I hope they consider Frankel as a future wedding officiant. I think she could knock it out of the park.
