HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is currently in the middle of its first season, but we already have an update on when the second season will come out.
When is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 coming out?
Speaking to Deadline in a recent interview, HBO CEO Casey Bloys was asked about the status of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2, which has already been ordered. Bloys revealed that Season 3 is set to be produced after a second, and also revealed that fans can expect Season 2 sometime next year.
“This will be annual,” said Bloys. “Again, it was something that we were trying to — it’s not possible for all shows — but it is something that, where it’s possible creatively, to get back to that and we’d like to try and do that.”
Bloys was also asked about the potential for the show to go beyond just two or three seasons. Although George R.R. Martin only wrote three novellas on the subject, he has mentioned the show will feature untold stories. Bloys said that kind of stuff is too far out to really judge, and would require more conversations with showrunner Ira Parker and Martin.
“That would be a conversation with Ira and George,” Bloys said. “Certainly possible. So we’ll see. They’re producing Season 2 right now, Season 3 beyond that. I haven’t really gotten into what’s possible beyond that, but if he’s got more stories, it’s certainly something to talk to Ira and George about.”
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is currently airing on HBO, and is available to watch on HBO Max.
