Dundee United are delighted to announce the signing of Jesse Randall on a pre-contract agreement, who will arrive at Tannadice in the summer upon the expiry of his deal with A-League outfit Auckland FC.
Hailing from Wellington, New Zealand, the winger burst onto the scene aged just 17 in the country’s top flight, enjoying scintillating loan stints with Island Bay United and Tasman United, before breaking into the first-team set-up at North Wellington in 2021.

A goal-laden campaign in his hometown preceded an 8,000-mile leap of faith as he headed to the United States for a season spearheading North Kentucky Norse’s frontline. This move proved to be the spark which ignited Randall’s career as he netted ten goals in 17 appearances during his year in the south east.
Upon his return to New Zealand in 2022, he teamed up with Wellington Olympic, and fired them to successive regional title triumphs with 24 strikes across three terms at Wakefield Park.

Randall’s goalscoring exploits piqued the interest of the newly-formed Auckland FC who were preparing for their inaugural season as part of the Australian footballing pyramid, and they snapped him up as one of their first signings.
Our summer recruit turned out 17 times during the Black Knights’ debut campaign in the A-League, contributing four G/A to their surge to the top of the table. Steve Corica’s men would make history at the end by becoming the first New Zealand-based outfit to secure the league title.

The 23-year-old and his employers picked up from where they left off upon the commencement of 2025/26, with Randall boasting five goals and three assists from 14 starts so far as Auckland sit top of the pile once again heading into the second half of the season.
No player in the Australian top tier has taken more shots or touches in the opposition’s penalty area than the future Terrors livewire this year, who is now rubber-stamped as our first exciting arrival of the summer transfer window on an initial two-year deal with a club held option of an additional 12 months.
