Police said the road would be partially blocked while emergency services were in attendance.
Hato Hone St John said two ambulances, one helicopter, and one operations manager were called to the scene about 4.45pm.
“One patient in a serious condition and one in a moderate condition were taken to Dunedin Hospital via helicopter.”
