Filmmaker Karan Johar has praised Rani Mukerji following the box office performance of Mardaani 3, calling her craft and consistency a rare achievement in today’s theatrical landscape. Taking to social media on February 10, 2026, Johar shared a congratulatory note for the actor, celebrating the success of her solo-led franchise.

Congratulations to my darling Rani for the success of her solo-led franchise yet again! A film that rides on its own solid potential!!!” Johar wrote.
Mardaani 3, which was released on January 30, 2026, arrived in cinemas amid the strong box office presence of Dhurandhar. Despite the competition, the film managed to register steady numbers and displayed notable resilience during its second week.
While the opening weekend collections were lower than Mardaani 2, early trade estimates had suggested the film might struggle to sustain beyond its initial run. However, consistent weekday performance revived expectations. Each weekday brought in collections of over Rs. 2 crores, helping the film maintain momentum.
The second weekend further strengthened the film’s box office standing. Friday collections stood at Rs. 2.15 crores, marginally higher than Thursday’s Rs. 2 crores. Saturday witnessed a sharp jump, collecting Rs. 3.85 crores, followed by a solid Rs. 4.55 crores on Sunday. With this, Mardaani 3 has reached a total of Rs. 37.10 crores, a figure that was earlier projected as its possible lifetime collection.
In the process, the film has also surpassed the lifetime box office of the original Mardaani, which had collected Rs. 35.82 crores upon its release in 2014. While release scales and ticket pricing have evolved significantly over the past decade, the comparison still adds to the franchise’s credibility.
Trade tracking now points to Mardaani 3 comfortably crossing the lifetime total of Mardaani 2, which stood at Rs. 47.57 crores. With steady footfalls and favourable word of mouth, the Rani Mukerji starrer appears well placed to extend its theatrical run further in the coming days.
