That’s a wrap on Blizzard Showcase! Over the past two weeks, we heard from developers across World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and Diablo about new gameplay, updates, and features coming to these worlds, as well as a few surprises!


Here are the highlights and where you can dive deeper into the details.


World of Warcraft: State of Azeroth 


An abundance of new initiatives are coming to Azeroth in WoW modern and Classic. Midnight launches globally on March 2 with tons of new offerings including new zones, quests, the Haranir allied race, zone events, PvP battleground and warmode area, and more. Shortly after launch, Season 1 kicks off with a new Delve progression track (and a new companion), world bosses, three raids (with staggering availability), and a new Mythic+ dungeon pool. Housing is getting a host of updates and improvements as well as a creator competition, WoW Classic is about to escalate the conflict in Mists of Pandaria, and this year’s Charity Pet Pack supports Habitat for Humanity with the most adorable canine companion, Roofus.

Overwatch Spotlight


Overwatch is ushering in a new era of storytelling with the launch of a continuous, year-long story plus five new heroes in season one; ten heroes over the course of the year; new systems; a multipronged narrative experience including cinematics, comics, and in-game events; and a refreshed UI/UX.

Hearthstone Spotlight


The Tavern is bustling with activity as CATACLYSM, Hearthstone’s next expansion, launches March 17. New gameplay features will include the return of Colossals, and new keywords “Herald” and “Shatter.” For the duration of the CATACLYSM expansion cycle, all players also get access to every single card from the Into the Emerald Dream and the Lost City of Un’Goro expansions, alongside a host of other rewards to kick off the Year of the Scarab.

Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight


The broadcast revealed big updates across Diablo IV, Diablo Immortal, and the surprise live-today launch of Reign of the Warlock, a major new content release for Diablo II: Resurrected that also introduces the game’s first new playable class in over 25 years.
