Taunton’s Apple FM, broadcasting on 97.3FM, online, and via smart speakers, has found a new home at Ina’s Cottage in the town centre.

The station had operated from studios within Musgrove Park Hospital for many years, starting life as Taunton Hospital Radio, and has been part of the hospital community for over 55 years.

Ina’s Cottage is a late 18th or early 19th-century building that once served as a gatehouse to Taunton Castle.

It is now linked to Mambo.

Greg Perkins, Apple FM managing director, said: “This amazing offer to home Apple FM at Ina’s Cottage by Mambo enables our community radio station to continue its work in providing local radio for Taunton, supporting and entertaining our community.”

The move was made possible through support from Mambo, a hospitality business based in the town.

James Eyre, managing director of Mambo, said: “We’re delighted to be able to support Apple FM in securing a new home in the heart of Taunton.

“Mambo has played a small part of the hospitality offering in Taunton since 2005 and it’s fabulous for us to be helping an important community-focused platform like Apple FM.”
