Zayn Malik is giving fans another rare look into his life as a dad. During a candid podcast appearance, the singer opened up about parenting daughter Khai and admitted that he may have gone a little overboard when it came to one childhood milestone, the Tooth Fairy. The lighthearted confession quickly sparked debate online about parenting styles and how fame can shape everyday family moments.

Zayn Malik opens up about giving daughter ‘bit too much’ Tooth Fairy money

Speaking on the February 11 episode of “Call Her Daddy“, Zayn Malik chatted with host Alex Cooper about new music, life in Pennsylvania, and raising five-year-old Khai, whom he shares with model Gigi Hadid.

During the conversation, Malik revealed that he gave Khai a surprisingly large amount when she lost her first tooth. “I think I gave her a bit too much money from the Tooth Fairy,” he admitted. When Cooper asked for the number, he laughed and said, “$500.”

The singer explained that parenting comes with unique challenges because his daughter’s upbringing differs from that of most children. “Her dad is a pop star. Her mom is a model,” he said, noting that reality can look different from a child’s perspective in their household.

Malik joked that Hadid wasn’t impressed by the generous payout. “Her mom gave me s— about it,” he said, but added that he feels proud of being able to give his daughter things he didn’t always have growing up. “I worked my ass off, and I should be able to give my kid what I wanna give her.”

When Cooper asked what happens with the next tooth, Malik quipped that the second one would earn only $5. He also shared that the first tooth holds sentimental value, saying, “I’m gonna keep that one and frame it.”

The conversation turned reflective as Malik acknowledged he sometimes overcompensates as a parent. “I didn’t get to do this, so I want you to be able to feel this,” he said. “I overcompensate a little bit too much sometimes… I’ll hold my hands up.”
