Mega Raid changes have arrived.
Pokémon Go is an intensely popular game, and certain mechanics and features can often change. If it has been a little while since you played, you might want to know about the recent changes around Mega Raids and what exactly Link Charges are.
What are Link Charges?

Link Charges in Pokémon Go are used to enter both Mega Raids and Super Mega Raids. When you attempt to join a Raid lobby, you will be prompted to use Link Charges to take part. A Mega Raid will cost 150 Link Charges, while a Super Mega Raid will cost 200 Link Charges.
To get Link Charges, you need to complete weekly challenges, open Gifts from friends, and the Premium Battle Pass. You can also earn some from specific community meetups through Campfire. It is also possible to buy Link Charges from the Pokémon Go Store at a cost of 100 PokeCoins for 200 Link Charges, and 300 PokeCoins for 600 Link Charges. You can also log into the Pokémon Go Web Store and purchase them there, if you wish.Â
Link Charges are stored in a Link Holder, which you automatically receive the first time you get Link Charges. The Link Holder has a maximum limit on how many Link Charges it can hold at a time, and you can view how many Link Charges you have at any time by tapping on the Link Holder in the Item Bag. The maximum is currently 600.
