The snuggle — er, struggle is real for Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
A source says the former Duke of York, 66, is not coping well without his beloved teddy bears, which are currently sitting in storage after he was kicked out of Royal Lodge.
“Andrew is in a terrible state emotionally,” the source says of the royal, who has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing but was recently arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office “The smallest things are catastrophic and he’s fixated on the fact that most of his teddy bears are now locked away in storage rather than with him at his new place.”
As Examiner previously reported, Andrew’s love of plushies was revealed in royal expert Tom Quinn’s 2025 book, Yes, Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants.
“He has a collection of teddy bears, which he insists are placed every day in a certain position … a pyramid shape,” the author told Fox News Digital. “And he gets very cross if it’s not done properly.”

“Andrew only only took a couple when he moved,” says the source, adding that the rest were left behind under arrangements overseen by King Charles III, “which really underlines how little control he has over his own life these days.”
That’s the real issue, notes Examiner’s source.
“But he’s zeroed in on the bears, which of course is only making people roll their eyes,” the source says. “Charles has much bigger things to be focused on. He’s not going to indulge Andrew in something so childish.”
If it were up to the 77-year-old monarch, “those bears would be in the bin,” reveals the source. “He finds it absolutely mortifying that his brother even has a teddy bear collection at his age.”
