The end of Outlander is drawing near, and we’re preparing to say goodbye to one of the most beloved series of the last decade. During the SDCC 2025 panel, STARZ confirmed that Season 8 of Outlander will premiere soon. That marks the definitive conclusion to Claire and Jamie Fraser’s story. Since its debut in 2014, the series has captivated millions of viewers with its passionate romance, historical drama, and time-traveling twists. Now, with just ten episodes to wrap up the saga, anticipation for what’s to come is at an all-time high.

At SDCC 2025, the official poster was revealed. And shows Claire and Jamie walking toward a stone circle shaped like an “8,” a striking image symbolizing the end of their time-traveling journey. And not only that, let’s not forget that, depending on which glass you look through, it can be the symbol of infinity. Because, without a doubt, Jamie and Claire will be with us forever, no matter what.

The Plot:

The final season will primarily adapt Diana Gabaldon’s Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, while also incorporating elements from the upcoming tenth book. And the official synopsis is “as Season 8 begins, Jamie and Claire soon find the war has followed them home to Fraser’s Ridge, now a thriving settlement that has grown and flourished in their absence.

With new arrivals and changes made during their years away, the Frasers are confronted with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home and, more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together. While the Frasers keep a united front against outside intruders, family secrets finally coming to light threaten to tear them apart from the inside. Although they’ve left the war for America’s freedom behind, their fight for Fraser’s Ridge has only just begun.”

We have the first teaser trailer for Season 8!

In the teaser trailer, we see some callbacks to some key moments in Jamie and Claire’s love story, and we’re already tearing up! Back in the present, it seems like Fraser Ridge has grown quite a bit in their absence, but the conflicts continue to rise there. A burned-down house brings back plenty of bad memories… but at least Jamie and Bree are there!

Lord John Grey will also be involved again in the Fraser world, and Ian & Rachel seem to be having a rough time, and we’re ready to fight for them. But above all, we’re ready to fight for Jamie and Claire. They seem closer than ever, but also more aware of everything they could lose.

In the ending, Claire’s hair is almost white, and a man calls out to her while she thinks it’s “impossible” that he’s standing in front of her. Does it have something to do with Faith or her parents? Or is it her brother? There’s not much time left to find out!

After the end of Season 7, we got our first glimpse of the Final Season.

At SDCC 2025, a powerful and emotional teaser was revealed. Jamie reads a book by Frank Randall that foretells his own death during the war, while Claire watches him with fear. The line “War is coming to the back country… and that James Fraser dies in it” has become our worst nightmare!
