New Zealand Olympic rowing stars Tom Mackintosh and Davina Waddy have announced their engagement, sharing a sweet milestone moment with fans on social media.

The couple wrote in a joint Instagram post: “9 years down and 999 to go”.

The pair, both 29, beamed with excitement in one photo taken
just moments after the proposal, with Waddy proudly showing off a striking emerald engagement ring.

Mackintosh popped the question atop a rolling farm hill, later sharing a playful image of grass stuck to his knee.
