Selena Gomez opened up about her friendship with Taylor Swift during an appearance on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast
“It’s absolutely unbelievable to come from 17 years of friendship,” she said, adding that they experienced heartbreaks and love stories together
Gomez also said she’s “lucky” they each found love in Benny Blanco and Travis Kelce
Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are enjoying witnessing each other live out their “Love Story.”
On Thursday, Feb. 26, the singer and actress appeared on husband Benny Blanco‘s new podcast with Lil Dicky and his wife Kristin Batalucco, called Friends Keep Secrets, and opened up about her friendship with the pop star.
“Do you guys ever sit there and you’re just like, ‘I can’t believe this is our life now from where you were?'” Blanco, 37, asked Gomez of Swift.
“It’s moreso that wow we survived it as best as we could because it’s literally all we talk about,” the Only Murders in the Building actress, 33, responded.
Looking back on their friendship, Gomez said it’s less about what they’ve accomplished as individuals — and more about having each other in the process.

“When we talk about it we’re not like, ‘Look at this prosperity.’ It’s moreso like actually this is so cool that you get it,” she said. “It’s absolutely unbelievable to come from 17 years of friendship, from multiple heartbreaks and love stories and fun stories in life.”
“We both ended up fortunately being engaged around the same time and that was the coolest part,” Gomez added.
When Lil Dicky (born David Burd) pointed out that they both “ended up with good dudes,” she agreed.
“I agree… I’m very lucky,” Gomez said of their friendship, which dates back to 2008.

Gomez revealed she was engaged to the music producer in December 2024, while Swift announced her engagement to Travis Kelce in August 2025.
In September, Swift attended Gomez and Blanco’s wedding in California and delivered a speech at the reception.
Weeks later, in an interview on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, Swift, 36, said her best friend was “the most beautiful” bride.
“Not just the most beautiful bride,” she clarified. “Just like the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
Swift added, “[I’m] just so happy, and she deserves it so much. And you only wish that for people, you know?”
