A car fire on Auckland’s Southern motorway is causing delays for afternoon commuters.
Police said emergency services were called to the car fire on SH1 near Grafton shortly after 1pm on Friday.
The fire occurred on southbound lanes just after the on-ramp from the port link.
Police said no one had been injured inside the car.
Traffic was being impacted in both directions due to smoke.
“Please expect delays in the area,” police said.
