On Friday 6 March, France Télévisions announced that they had chosen Monroe to represent France at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, performing her song Regarde ! (‘Look !’) for a global audience in May.

Through Regarde !, France wants to celebrate the richness of all its musical cultures. From the emotional power of opera to the theatricality of great musicals and the modernity of pop, Monroe is aiming to showcase many French musical styles on the European stage.

Composed by Fred Savio, Fredie Marche and the Violin Phonix, the most popular French violin duo of their generation, the song Regarde ! was written to be a cry from the heart and a hymn to love; to the simple and powerful truth that despite our differences and struggles, love is everywhere and remains our common language.

Monroe will sing for France at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in ViennaMeet Monroe!

Despite being just 17 years old, Monroe is no longer regarded as a promising talent, but rather a proven artist.

The singer came to the attention of audiences in 2025 thanks to her victory in Prodiges, France Télévisions’ flagship talent show, where she stood out for possessing a unique combination: a young artist with a golden voice. Winning over the jury and the viewers with her powerful voice, artistry and charisma, this victory marked a turning point in her career and opened the doors to national recognition.

Monroe grew up between France and the United States, in a family environment focused on music and sharing. Introduced to singing and piano at an early age, she developed a solid musical foundation from childhood, enriched via choir practice and musicals, trained in classical music and nourished by the demands of opera.

Passionate about all musical cultures, Monroe draws inspiration from great voices in history, from Cecilia Bartoli to Céline Dion.

After her debut album was praised for its musical richness and elegance, now Monroe gets to continue her ascent by representing France at Vienna 2026.

Speaking about the huge news, Monroe said:

“Representing France at Eurovision is a tremendous honour and a responsibility that I accept with pride and determination. This Contest has been a part of my life since childhood, and now, at 17, I am fully aware of the trust that has been placed in me. I am entering the competition proudly representing France, the country that has shaped and inspired me. With my song ‘Regarde !’, I want to showcase the richness and diversity of French music. I want to offer Europe an intense, sincere performance with a universal message: love is what brings us together.”
