Police are in pursuit of three masked robbers who targeted a convenience store in Rotorua before fleeing this afternoon.

A police helicopter had been circling the area in search of the trio who entered a Mourea shop with masks on “demanding items”.

“An investigation is underway after an aggravated
robbery at a Mourea convenience store earlier today,” police said.

“Police were called to the premises about 3.40pm after a report of three people entering the store in masks and demanding items.
