The 2600 MHz band has emerged as the most popular frequency band in Pakistan’s ongoing 5G spectrum auction.
Competition is continuing among all three telecom operators for the acquisition of 19 lots in the 2600 MHz band.
During the first round of the auction, there was demand for 11 additional lots in this band.
After the second round, the additional demand has reduced to seven lots.
Due to the strong demand, the base price of the 2600 MHz band has so far increased by 10 percent.
The base price for the 2600 MHz band was $12.5 million per lot.
After a 5 percent increase in the second round, the price rose to $13.12 million per lot.
With another 5 percent increase in the third round, the price has reached $13.781 million per lot.
