2026 is becoming the biggest year ever for a very famous Spider-Man villain.

While Spider-Man: Brand New Day is arriving this summer, the Spider-Noir TV show will be beating them to the punch with one character’s live-action debut. Artist Jorge Molina, who made the new posters for the Prime Video drama, was asked about the mystery character in purple, as he confirmed that it is Marvel’s Tombstone. The original post had him announcing that “I collaborated with @primevideomx and @ccxp_mx for these Spider-Noir badge illustrations from the live action show 💥💥 I’ll be a guest artist at this year’s show so I’m looking forward to seeing these in person, see you there from April 24 to 26th!”

It’s believed that the original poster with Tombstone is meant to be based on Abraham Popoola, who joined the Spider-Noir cast in a mystery role. However, Prime Video and Sony have yet to confirm if that is Popoola.

Regardless of who is playing him, the series officially beats the MCU timeline to it by two months, as Tombstone is also confirmed to make his Marvel Studios debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, played by Marvin Jones III. The actor has also voiced the Spidey foe in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Lonnie Lincoln, a.k.a. Tombstone, is also currently serving a large role in Marvel Studios’ Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man animated TV show, where he is voiced by Eugene Byrd. Season 2 will premiere sometime in 2026 on Disney+.

While he is part of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day cast, Spider-Noir will be focusing on the web-crawler in the 1930s. This will allow both properties to explore unique versions of Tombstone in a short timespan between the two releases.

It has also been confirmed that Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Man won’t be Peter Parker, but rather a new take on Ben Reilly, which lets audience members see Tombstone clash with two different web-slingers. It also remains to be seen if either version of the comic book antagonist will appear after their 2026 projects, whether that is Spider-Man 5 or Spider-Noir season 2.

Spider-Noir debuts on MGM+ in the United States on May 25, while Prime Video will launch the series on May 27 for the rest of the world, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31.
