
The direct impact of tourism grew 5% to €30.2 billion in 2024 from €28.8 billion in 2023, with growth in all expenditures, such as inbound tourism, cruise, transport, domestic tourism, and investments, that came to €5.1 billion, of which €2.4 billion constituted domestic added value.
British package holiday group On the Beach suspended its profit forecast on Thursday, saying the US-Israeli war with Iran has triggered a sharp slowdown in holiday bookings to destinations such as Turkey, Greece, Cyprus and Egypt.
On the Beach said it had temporarily suspended its annual adjusted pretax profit outlook of between £39 million and £43 million (€45-€50 million) as a result of the developing Middle East crisis, sending its shares 10% lower.
