A Loose Women panellist, who appeared in the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, has revealed why she’s repeatedly stood up for Meghan Markle. In the couple’s 2022 series, the pair presented their version of events surrounding their decision to step back from their senior royal duties in 2020.

The documentary also included clips showing remarks from Loose Women stars, who frequently debate royal matters on the ITV talk show. During discussions about the couple, Kelle Bryan has consistently shown compassion for the Duchess of Sussex, who has openly discussed experiencing suicidal thoughts while part of the Royal Family.

Explaining why she’s championed Meghan numerous times, the 51-year-old revealed to Woman’s Own magazine: “I got featured in her documentary, so that was very nice [laughs]. I’ve not met her, but I just feel for her.”

Discussing the mother-of-two’s difficulties adjusting to royal life, she added: “That journey cannot have been easy, and I don’t think she was prepared for it.

“She didn’t know it was going to be quite what it was. I just support her in any way that I can. I think she’s got enough people against her, hasn’t she?”.

Kelle spoke out amid reports regarding Harry and Meghan’s apparent tensions with Netflix. Variety suggested, quoting multiple sources familiar with Netflix and the Sussexes, that the duo’s partnership with the streaming platform hasn’t always been great.

The report indicated that any perceived friction was connected to audience figures for some of the pair’s projects and dissatisfaction over particular elements, including what were characterised as recurring themes about their departure from royal duties.

It additionally alleged Netflix was taken by surprise by the couple’s 2021 sit-down with Oprah Winfrey, though a representative for Harry and Meghan has stated this assertion is “categorically false”.

Bela Bajaria, Netflix chief content officer, recently commented on the situation, encouraging people not to “believe whatever you read”.

As reported by Deadline, she remarked at the Next on Netflix press event: “We still have a relationship with them. We have movies in development with them. We have an amazing doc with them.

“Deals come and go all the time, and we don’t renew so many deals, those just don’t get as much press for obvious reasons. There’s no juicy story there.”

This follows Meghan’s announcement that she and her lifestyle brand, As Ever, were concluding their collaboration with the streaming platform. The brand will proceed “independently,” according to a spokesperson.

A Netflix representative confirmed: “As it was always intended, Meghan will continue growing the brand and take it into its next chapter independently, and we look forward to celebrating how she continues to bring joy to households around the world.”
