Shortly after their royal exit, in September 2020, the Sussex couple struck a lucrative deal with streaming giant Netflix.

Although the figure was never confirmed, it was reported at the time that the deal could be worth around £80million. Harry and Meghan have so far released five projects on Netflix. Meghan’s lifestyle series, With Love Meghan, aired last year with two seasons and a Christmas special, but has not been renewed.

Apart from the initial hype for season one, the series was largely savaged by critics and plummeted in rankings and ratings. Their fourth one was Prince Harry’s POLO, which was released in December 2024. It followed the couple’s Heart Of Invictus series, released in 2023, which came after Live to Lead and the Sussexes’s bombshell docuseries, Harry & Meghan, in 2022.

Aside from the Sussexes’ bombshell docuseries in 2022, the rest of their projects have not generated as much interest. Last August, Netflix downgraded Harry and Meghan’s deal to a “first-look” one, which means the streamer can now hear the Sussexes’ ideas for potential projects first before deciding whether to obtain the rights to them.

The Sussexes dubbed the new deal an “extension” of their partnership; however, critics said the move suggests Netflix is “pivoting away” from them.
