State Highway 1 north of Whangārei has reopened after an earlier closure because of a vehicle fire.
SH1 at Towai, between Hūkerenui and Waiomio, was closed in both directions while emergency services responded.
A police spokesperson said the blaze was reported about 11.55am and delays were expected.
“People are
also advised to avoid the area until the scene is cleared.”
