BTS made their comeback Saturday, performing for live the first time in four years in Seoul, South Korea. Luckily, it was streaming on Netflix for the fans across the world who couldn’t be there, and within just over a day had racked up 13.1M views.
That put it at No. 1 on the non-English TV list for the week and, in fact, led all of television on the streamer.
For context, that’s about double the audience in roughly the same time frame for Alex Honnold’s live Taipei 101 climb, but much lower than the audience generated by some of the streamer’s marquee fights including Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson in 2024.
Netflix also said Tuesday that BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG drew 18.4 million global viewers in Live +1, based on internal first-party data. It’s unclear how Netflix measures ‘viewers,’ though it appears to be differently methodology than the ‘views’ metric it typically uses.
Elsewhere on the streamer, One Piece Season 2 held onto the top spot on the English TV list with 11.1M views. Audiences also put Season 1 of the series at No. 4 with 4.4M views. Virgin River Season 7 came in second place with 7.7M views.
On the film side, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man marked the return of Cillian Murphy’s Tommy Shelby to the tune of 25.3M views, making it the most-watched title of the week and No. 1 on the English films list. War Machine took No. 2 on the English film list with 18M views. Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere took No. 3 on the list with 6.3M views.
