Emergency incident in Auckland’s Mt Albert: Four injured; police, ambulance at scene

A Herald photographer said multiple people were being treated by ambulance staff, with 15 to 20 police cars parked along surrounding streets in the suburb.

One person at the scene claimed some of those hurt had been stabbed, but authorities have not confirmed the nature of any injuries, nor the circumstances of the emergency.

Broken bottles, shoes, and other items are scattered across the surrounding streets, with a strong smell of alcohol lingering where bottles were thrown.

Police have since lifted cordons that were in place, with a few officers still remaining on Phyllis St.

Fire and Emergency has confirmed it was called to the scene alongside St John.

Police have also cordoned off nearby Great North Rd, where it is believed another person was injured.

Officers are currently issuing move-on orders to everyone in the area.
