Talented colt Beadman will make his return to the races at Rosehill on Saturday, kicking off a preparation that could see him contest the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington in November.
A $900,000 yearling purchase, Beadman narrowly won a trial at Randwick last Tuesday morning as he builds up towards the start of his three-year-old campaign, which will come in the Listed Heritage Stakes (1100m).
“It was a good trial,” said his trainer Peter Snowden. “It was his second trial back, he’s been in work for quite a while and the preparation we’ve got, most of his races are not until October, November, so there’s been no rush with him.
“He’s just had a really good, long preparation, two soft trials. The second trial (on Tuesday) we asked a bit more of him. He’s a quality horse. Hopefully, we get to the Coolmore at some stage if we’re going well enough, it’s certainly a race we’d like to be there if we’re going well enough.”

Named after legendary jockey Darren Beadman, the son of Snitzel impressed racing fans with his performance to emphatically win the G3 Ken Russell Memorial Classic on the Gold Coast by more than eight lengths.
“He’s still very raw, he’s still very new,” Snowden said. “He’s very talented, he’s got a good resume already on what he’s done, the few starts that he’s had, he’s had three for two wins and a second, his last one was very dominant before he went out.
“He’s a massive, big horse now, he’s so much bigger than last time in. He’s still learning but he’s a very gifted horse and I’m sure there’s some good races coming up in him.”
Beadman is the third favourite at $8 in Sportsbet’s market for the Coolmore Stud Stakes.
