A person has been moderately injured after a roof fire in Burnside, Christchurch today.

FENZ said it attended three crews to what it described as a “small fire on the roof of the building” at a property on Wairakei Road.

“On arrival crews found a small fire on the roof of the building,” a spokesperson said. “All occupants of the building were outside when crews arrived”.

St John said it sent two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle to the incident, they assessed two patients.

One patient in a minor condition remained at the scene, while another in moderate condition was transported by ambulance to Christchurch Hospital.

Fire crews left the scene just after 3.30pm.
