Scotland skipper Andy Robertson says he’ll make a huge decision on his future before the World Cup – and stayed tight-lipped on a potential move to Celtic.
The Liverpool left-back is out of contract this summer and looks set to end a trophy-laden nine-year stint at Anfield.
He’s been linked with several top clubs in Europe, as well as boyhood club Celtic.
Robertson has revealed he’ll announce his destination before Scotland heads to America.
But he refused to confirm whether a stunning switch to Parkhead could be on his radar.
Robertson said: “Will I make a decision before the World Cup? Yeah, that will definitely happen.
“For me, I will make up my mind before the summer and it’s always been in my head that I don’t want it hanging over me.
“I think that’s important, I don’t think anyone wants that and everyone would be in the same boat.
“If you’re out of contract and sign a new contract, or whatever you’re doing – you always want that sorted before you go into a big tournament.
“I have always worked towards that and have been consistent with it.
“It’s only eight or nine weeks, so from now until the end I’ll sit down with my family and see what we want.
“After that we’ll deal with whatever comes and take it from there.
“It’s not really one to talk about (Celtic).
“Obviously I was at Celtic as a kid and had a season ticket, that’s not a secret.
“But it’s not something I really want to get into.
“The options that are on the table for me at the minute will stay private and that’s the way I’ve always done it.
“People can talk and there’s been a lot of talk around it, where I’m going to go next.
“I’ve seen it but I stay away from it all now. Me and my wife have had a good laugh about some of it.
“Let’s see what happens, what the next destination is and take it from there.”
Meanwhile, Robertson admits playing for Scotland has kept his spirits up during a tough season at Liverpool.
The skipper hasn’t been first-choice left-back at Anfield this term after the arrival of Hungarian defender Milos Kerkez.

It’s been a hugely disappointing campaign for Arne Slot’s side who won’t retain their Premier League title.
Robertson has been used sparingly by the Dutch coach and the Scotland captain says representing his country has been a God-send.
Especially as he helped lead Steve Clarke’s side to World Cup qualification for the first time in 28 years.
Robertson is preparing for Saturday’s friendly against Japan at Hampden.
And the 32-year-old said: “Scotland duty has kept me going at times this season. I can safely say that.
“Especially at the start when we had games in September, October, November, it was really important for me.
“We were playing in such big games so it gave me something to focus on and be a part of.
“When you’re playing lots of games at club level, sometimes your mind can wander.
“But Scotland has been a big focus for me this season and I’ve enjoyed every game.”
Robertson should earn his 91st cap against the Japanese this weekend – equalling Jim Leighton’s haul as Scotland’s second-most capped player of all time.
If he surpasses the legendary keeper, only Kenny Dalglish will stand in his way to reach the top.
And he says he’s as determined as ever to keep playing for Scotland beyond the World Cup.
Robertson said: “That’s something I could only ever have dreamed of.
“My motivation is there anyway (to keep playing for Scotland). It’s clear how much I love playing for my country and what it means to me.
“As long as I think I can contribute, I’ll keep playing. I think I’ve got a few good years left in me.
“Being close enough to Kenny, we have a laugh and a joke about it.
“He always says there are more international games now than there was back then which is fair enough!
“But it’s an incentive for me. To get one cap for Scotland was a dream for me as a kid.
“To be sitting on 90 and potentially 91 on Saturday to equal Jim is a huge honour and I hope I have many more to come.”
