Samsung’s new Hearapy app is designed to help people with motion sickness. The free app is available on the Google Play Store and is designed to work with the new Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.
The app works by producing a 100Hz bass sine tone, which is designed to stimulate the user’s balance system and promote well-being on the go, according to Samsung’s German blog post. Hearing this tone for one minute should offer a two-hour trip. You can play the tone for 120 seconds at a time, though, if you need a little bit more help.
Samsung says that the idea for Hearapy came from a Japanese study, where researchers learned which tone most effectively stimulates the vestibular system. They found out that the 100Hz sine wave at 75-85dB for several minutes can improve balance.
SamMobile says that the app is designed for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, but it works on other earbuds, as well. Your mileage may vary.
You can download Hearapy on Android.
