Ill Niño have cleared the air after recently parting ways with their guitarist Xander Raymond Charles ahead of even playing their first tour together. The latter musician publicly announced that split on March 22nd, stating of his dismissal:
“In the beginning of 2026, I was hired by the band ILL NINO to become a permanent replacement and the newest member. Last night, I received a call telling me they no longer need me as a replacement. This was a total shock, as I was committed for several months, and the first show is 3 weeks away. I was informed this decision was completely out of my control, and I had nothing to do with it.
As of today, I am available for work. If anyone needs a guitar player, I’m here. I keep my word, and I commit to what I agree to.
Lastly, there is no bad blood, and I understand this is strictly a business decision. I wish ILL NINO nothing but the best.

Now both parties have weighed in on the matter, issuing the following joint statement yesterday, March 31st:
“We would like to clear the air regarding the events of the past week. Following a last-minute lineup change that impacted Xander Raymond Charles‘ touring schedule, both parties have met to resolve the matter professionally.
Ill Niño has decided to continue with their current touring lineup, and schedule. This decision was based on a scheduling conflict, and is in no way a reflection of Xander‘s talent, character, or professionalism. We are moving forward with mutual respect and no hard feelings.
Xander shared: “Ill Niño is a legendary band, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for them.”
Both parties wish each other nothing but success moving forward.

Charles also commented on the below post, offering, “We are setting the record straight, and to avoid any gossip,” Charles had been hired on earlier this year to serve as the band’s new touring guitarist.
