Police and media outlets have described the woman as a known stalker.
It is believed the woman discovered the place and time of the musician’s appointment and showed up to attack the singer.
The woman’s motive has not been reported.

Buckingham was granted a permanent restraining order against an alleged stalker in December 2024, the Blast reported.
The stalker, only known as “Michelle”, was allegedly harassing Buckingham and his wife since 2021.
Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975 with his then girlfriend Stevie Nicks. The group went on to win two Grammy awards, including Album of the Year for Rumours.
He became known for his intricate guitar playing and for writing many of the band’s best-known songs, including Go Your Own Way, Never Going Back Again and Second Hand News.
Buckingham and Nicks broke up in 1976.
He left the band in 1987 only to return to the band a decade later – then left again in 2018.
Speaking about his last departure, Buckingham told People he was “fired” from the band because of Nicks.
“It was all Stevie’s doing,” he said. “Stevie basically gave the band an ultimatum that either I had to go or she would go.”
But Nicks has denied his version of events with a public statement: “To be exceedingly clear, I did not have him fired, I did not ask for him to be fired, I did not demand he be fired.”

His replacement was Crowded House frontman Neil Finn who toured with the band until 2019.
Fleetwood Mac’s drummer Mick Fleetwood told the Herald in 2019 he was a huge fan of Finn.
“Not only the artiste in him, but the songwriter and the singer in him is – for me and many other people, and especially for you folks there in New Zealand – something very special.”
Buckingham has not yet released a comment on the attack.
