A person has died in a crash at the top of the South Island.

One person is dead and another is injured after a crash in Tasman.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of the Coastal Highway (State Highway 60) and the Eastern Loop, south of Motueka, about 2.45pm yesterday.

“One person died at the scene, [and] a second person sustained moderate injuries”,
police said.

Police are continuing to make inquiries into the circumstances of the crash.
