Vivian Wilson wants the world to know she’s doing just fine on her own.

The media personality and model just cleared up any misconceptions around how much of her father’s $480 billion net worth she gets access to, E! reports.

“I’m financially independent,” Elon Musk’s estranged daughter, 21, said this weekend during a panel at the 2025 Teen Vogue Summit. “I’m making money now.”

She added during the Saturday, September 20 panel, “People have a lot of assumptions, and you just kinda have to deal with that.”

Earlier this month, Wilson — whose mother is Musk’s ex-wife, Justine Wilson — told New York Magazine’s The Cut that she doesn’t reap the financial benefits of being her father’s daughter.

“I don’t have that inheritance,” she said in the profile piece that was published on September 2. “People assume I have a lot of money. I don’t have hundreds of thousands of dollars at my disposal.”

Wilson added, “I don’t have a desire to be super rich. I can afford food. I have friends, a shelter, and some expendable income, which is nice and much more fortunate than most people my age in Los Angeles.”

Earlier this month, Wilson took center stage at New York Fashion Week with her first appearance on the runway.

The transgender model joined Alexis Bittar’s “MISS USA 1991” presentation on September 12, marking her official NYFW debut. Wilson was selected to represent South Carolina in the show, which carried a deeper message about trans visibility and rights.

Meanwhile, her dad, 54, can be spotted in a new documentary about Kanye West that hit theaters this weekend. In Whose Name? promises an unfiltered look at the controversial rapper’s life, including all the struggles and chaos, and takes place over six years of his life.

Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian, Drake, Lady Gaga, LeBron James and Pharrell Williams also appear in the documentary.
