Hato Hone St John said it sent an ambulance to the scene and staff assessed one person in a moderate condition. They travelled to Christchurch Hospital in a private car.
About 10 minutes later, police received another report of two people entering a business on McBratneys Rd with a weapon.
An employee was assaulted and taken to hospital with moderate injuries, Kohnke said.
Police said cash was targeted before the pair left in a vehicle.

Police are making inquiries to identify and locate those involved and are working to determine whether the incidents are linked.
