Health officials warn of possible measles exposure in Colorado Springs

  • April 9, 2026

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is warning the public of a possible measles exposure location in El Paso County.

Health officials said they have identified two measles cases in unvaccinated adult Weld County residents.

According to CDPHE, both residents are household contacts of a previously confirmed case that is unrelated to the Broomfield schools outbreak.

CDPHE said a possible measles exposure location in Colorado Springs has been identified in relation to these new cases.

If you have visited the Chick-fil-A at the Citadel Crossing Shopping Center at 505 N. Academy Boulevard on March 25 between 5 and 8 p.m., you are asked to watch for symptoms through April 15.

Health officials said symptoms of measles can include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes and a rash that starts on the face and spreads.

If you believe you may have developed symptoms, contact your health care provider, an urgent care center or an emergency department.
