C4/Burning Lord’s Owen “O-Zone” Viles recently underwent esophagectemy surgery to remove cancer from his esophagus. The surgery was successful, however due to the recovery time C4 will unfortunately be forced to cancel some upcoming shows and festival appearances.

Those appearances include:

United Blood
Straight Ahead show
Rebirth Fest
Tied Down Detroit pre-show

Burning Lord is also affected by the recovery as well, in the meantime Restraining Order’s Keith Freeman will step in on bass duties for the upcoming schedule.

In addition, Viles has shared that Burning Lord is also â…” finished with writing their next album to follow up 2024’s Arcane Demolition.

In a recent social media post Viles shared the following:

Hello everybody. I (Owen) recently had a surgical procedure to remove cancer in my esophagus called an Esophagectemy. The surgery went very well but it is a long recovery of about 8-10 weeks so I regret to inform you that C4 will not be playing United Blood, the Straight Ahead show, Rebirth Fest or the Tied Down pre-show. Sorry to anybody who wanted to see us. We still have a few things booked for this summer that we intend to play and we’ll get back at it soon. Burning Lord has a couple shows in April and May too as well that our good friend Keith from Restraining Order will be filling in on bass for. Those of you that know me know I have had ongoing health issues pertaining to cancer on and off for a number of years now and I always make a swift recovery and get back on my feet. I have my wonderful girlfriend, family and friends taking care of me at the moment and I couldn’t have a better support network. And also a bit of something to look forward to – we’re like 2/3 of the way writing the next Burning Lord LP and it’s coming together great. We’ll be back. See you then.
