'Nemesis' Trailer Sets Up High-Stakes Cat-And-Mouse Game

The first trailer for Netflix‘s upcoming crime drama Nemesis has been released (above), and it’s setting up a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game between the two lead characters, played by Matthew Law and Y’lan Noel.

Nemesis tells the story of two men on either side of the law, the tale of what happens when an unstoppable force, expert criminal Coltrane Wilder (Noel), meets an immovable object, brilliant police detective Isaiah Stiles (Law). What starts as a series that aims to subvert the heist genre at every turn – amped with thrilling life-or-death stakes, family dynamics, and explosive action – gives birth to an exploration of what drives us, sustains us, and ultimately destroys us.

The series regular cast also includes Cleopatra Coleman, Tre Hale, Domenick Lombardozzi, Jonnie Park, Ariana Guerra, Gabrielle Dennis, Michael Potts, Sophina Brown, Cedric Joe, and Jeff Pierre. Guest stars include Moe Irvin, Quincy Isaiah, Jay Reeves, Mike O’Malley, Stephanie Sigman, Khalilah Joi, Shane Johnson, Siua Ikale’o, Dawnn Lewis, Mark Feuerstein, and Chris Bauer. Both Feuerstein and Johnson have previously starred in Kemp’s Power franchise from Starz and Lionsgate.

Nemesis premieres on May 14. The show’s first season will consist of 8 episodes running 60 minutes each.

Kemp serves as showrunner, creator and executive producer of Nemesis. Tani Marole serves as co-creator and executive producer. Chris Selak and Philipp Barnett are also EP. Mario Van Peebles will direct episodes 1 and 2, and serve as executive producer on those episodes. Directors also include: Millicent Shelton (103/104), Rob Hardy (105/106), and Ruben Garcia (107/108).
