Air New Zealand in recent schedule update filed planned operations to its latest Boeing 787-9 configuration. The 219-seater “Boeing 787-9 V5” features the configuration of C42W52Y125, scheduled to enter service by late-June 2026.
Initially planned 219-seater 787-9 service as follows (this update does not provide specific days operated by the new configuration).

Auckland – Honolulu eff 01JUL26 (All service by 18SEP26)
Auckland – Melbourne 30JUL26 (one-time)
Auckland – Nadi eff 01JUL26
Auckland – New York JFK eff 27JUN26 (All 3 weekly flights. The Economy Skynest on board the 787-9 V5 will be offered for travel from November 2026)
Auckland – Papeete (Tahiti) eff 06JUL26 (except 03AUG26 – 07SEP26)
Auckland – Perth eff 04JUL26
Auckland – Rarotonga 09JUL26 – 30JUL26, 24SEP26
Auckland – San Francisco eff 07JUL26 (except 04AUG26 – 08SEP26)
