Pocket FM has elevated Lalit Gangwar to chief operating officer. In his new role, he will oversee its global audio business, managing markets, growth, monetisation, and execution.

According to Pocket FM, Lalit Gangwar is a founding member who built its India growth playbook, scaling the platform to 150 million users in its first year. He later led its US expansion, setting up teams and driving growth.

The move comes as Pocket FM looks to strengthen its operating structure to support more predictable, long-term growth at scale, particularly in overseas markets such as the US.

Gangwar stated that the company will continue to focus on scaling global markets, investing in AI-led storytelling, and strengthening monetisation.

Pocket FM, which claims over 250 million listeners globally, has been expanding its content formats and investing in AI-driven storytelling tools. The company also operates a large creator ecosystem with over 300,000 writers and more than 100,000 audio series on its platform.

Pocket FM recorded a 68% increase in revenue to Rs 1,768 crore in FY25 and recently claimed to have crossed an ARR of Rs 4,167 crore with EBITDA profitability. On the other hand, its rival Kuku FM reported a nearly three-fold year-on-year jump in its revenue to Rs 242 crore in FY25. The Fundamentum-backed firm’s losses jumped by 60% to Rs 153 crore.
