The Raiders have been dealt a major blow, with in-form centre Simi Sasagi set to miss Thursday’s showdown with the Wests Tigers.

Canberra coach Ricky Stuart revealed on Wednesday morning the Samoan international will miss the game with a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Bulldogs skipper Stephen Crichton is on track to make his return from a shoulder injury in Friday’s showdown with the Broncos.

Brisbane duo Jesse Arthars and Kotoni Staggs are also set to take their place at Suncorp Stadium despite battling injuries last week.

Samoan star Jeremiah Nanai is ready to complete his comeback from off-season shoulder surgery, while Euan Aitken is pushing to play his first game since Round 2 when South Sydney plays Melbourne on Saturday night.

Wests Tigers: Heamasi Makasini will miss Thursday’s clash after suffering a foot injury in last week’s tight loss to Brisbane. The youngster’s absence has triggered a backline reshuffle, with Starford To’a set for his first NRL appearance of the season on the wing. Luke Laulilii also comes into the side in the centres. Latu Fainu was named in the reserves but could come into the team closer to game day if Marshall opts for more versatility on his bench.

Raiders: A big blow for Canberra, with Simi Sasagi ruled out with a slight hamstring strain. Coach Ricky Stuart has a number of options for a replacement, with outside backs Chevy Stewart and Savelio Tamale, and utility Daine Laurie all on the six-man bench. Joe Roddy is set to replace veteran forward Josh Papalii after the Samoan star was struck down with a calf injury. Noah Martin also gets his chance in the back row, with Hudson Young suspended for the next two weeks.

Cowboys: Jeremiah Nanai is on track to complete his return from off-season shoulder surgery and is set to take his place in the back row. Reed Mahoney and Murray Taulagi are also expected to return from head knocks suffered a fortnight ago. Mahoney’s comeback will see Soni Luke shift to the interchange, while Taulagi replaces Zac Laybutt on the wing.

Sharks: Cam McInnes has been cleared for his first game since tearing his ACL in Round 24 last year. The inspirational skipper will come off the bench on Friday night. Sifa Talakai is also set for a new role and will shift to the centres as Craig Fitzgibbon shakes up his backline. Mawene Hiroti is moves to the wing, with Sione Katoa dropping back to the reserves.

Broncos: Fullback Jesse Arthars and centre Kotoni Staggs are on track to take their place in the Broncos side on Friday night, despite suffering injuries in last week’s tight win over the Tigers. Hooker Cory Paix is also set to slide straight back into the No.9 jumper after recovering from a head knock. No such luck for Payne Haas or Corey Jensen, who will miss Friday’s match. Ben Talty and Jack Gosiewksi are set to start at prop in a new-look front row.

Bulldogs: Captain Stephen Crichton is set to complete his comeback from a shoulder injury after just falling short of an early return last week. The Bulldogs will be without Jacob Kiraz on Friday night after the winger succumbed to a knee injury. Jonathan Sua will start in his place, having replaced Kiraz in the second half last week.

Dragons: Coach Dean Young revealed during the week that Kyle Flanagan will act as hooker Damien Cook’s back-up off the bench. Winger Christian Tuipulotu remains in the reserves as he pushes to return from a knee injury, while Hame Sele is on track to line up in the centres after recovering from an eye socket injury. Emerging playmaker Kade Reed will make his NRL debut at halfback having impressed in the Pre-Season Challenge and the opening weeks of the NSW Cup season. Ryan Couchman is set to slot straight back into the second row in his return from suspension, replacing the suspended Jaydn Su’A. The Dragons have won only two of their last 15 games against the Roosters.

Roosters: Centre Billy Smith is on track to return from a knee injury after falling short in his comeback bid last week. The Roosters are otherwise settled as they look to build on last Sunday’s win over the Knights. The Roosters have won five of their last six Anzac Day clashes against the Dragons.

Storm: Grant Anderson has been named on the wing, with Manaia Watere in the centres but the pair could switch on game day, as they did last week. Despite losing five-straight games, Craig Bellamy has a settled squad as they look to continue an unbeaten record against the Rabbitohs in Melbourne.

Rabbitohs: Euan Aitken is pushing to make his first appearance since suffering a leg injury in Round 2 and remains on the six-man bench. Brandon Smith is also set for a new role after being named in the back row. Bronson Garlick starts at hooker as a result. The Rabbitohs are 0-20 against the Storm in Melbourne.

Knights: Winger Greg Marzhew has been ruled out of Sunday’s match due to a concussion, with James Schiller set to take his place in the side. Former Tiger and Panther Asu Kepaoa is part of the six-man bench and could make his club debut. Dom Young will make his 100th NRL appearance. Knights fullback Fletcher Sharpe has scored 14 tries in 12 games at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Sea Eagles: Tom Trbojevic’s hamstring injury has prompted a minor backline reshuffle, with Tolu Koula slotting into the No.1 jumper. Clayton Faulalo will line up in the centres as a result. Emerging centre Josh Feledy could make his second appearance of the year after coming on to the six-man bench. Jake Trbojevic will play in his 100th game at 4 Pines Park. Centre Reuben Garrick has scored 13 tries in 14 games against the Eels.

Eels: Centre Sean Russell and back-rower Kelma Tuilagi are both on track to complete their returns from concussions and are expected to take their place in the team on Sunday. Eels winger Josh Addo-Carr has scored four tries in his last five games.
