After many weeks of auditions, 40 people made it through to the semi-final stage of the ITV talent show.
Eight of those acts were performing in the first live semi-final tonight (Saturday, April 25).
After the acrobatic quartet The Rafikiz performed, many audience members called for Amanda Holden to press the golden buzzer and send them straight through to the final.
The noise was so loud that the judges were struggling to be heard giving their verdict on the performance, and Ant and Dec had to contend with it when introducing the next act.
Many people watching along at home were annoyed by this.
BGT viewers call for audience members to ‘shut up’
Plenty of viewers called for members of the live audience to be quiet as it was a struggle to hear what was going on.
Taking to X, one person posted: “Could the audience please shut up!”
Another wrote: “Shut up audience with the PRESS THE GOLD Chants”.
A third shared: “Can’t the audience zip it a bit”.
Meanwhile, another said: “Can someone tell the audience to calm down.”
Another person went as far to make a poll, saying: “Is this crowd/audience annoying you?”.
How many semi-finals are there for BGT 2026?
Including tonight’s episode (broadcast on Saturday, April 25), there will be five live semi-finals for the 2026 series of Britain’s Got Talent.
They will air every Saturday, apart from the fourth semi-final, which will air on Sunday, May 17, due to the Eurovision Song Contest taking place the day before.

The winner of BGT will take home a prize of £250,000 and will also be given the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of the royal family.
In the ITV show’s first three years, winners won a prize of £100,000, while the biggest winners were Ashleigh and Pudsey with a prize pot of £500,000 in 2012.
