The Infinix GT 50 Pro

Last year I wrote about fast-rising tech brand Infinix’s aims to build an affordable gaming ecosystem, which includes gaming phones, tablets, and earbuds, and now comes the latest device in that family: the Infinix GT 50 Pro.

While I do not have official pricing at the time of writing this article, reliable rumors say it will very likely sit between the $300 and $400 range. Despite the relatively low price, the phone packs plenty of flourishes and specs for a gaming phone.

First, the GT 50 Pro comes with two capacitive buttons located on the right side of the device, so when the phone is held sideways, they become shoulder trigger buttons seen in every gaming controller. Having shoulder buttons drastically improves performance in some games, especially first-person shooters.

The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate, a capable near flagship silicon. The phone also boasts a large liquid cooling chamber that covers the entire portion of the silicon, which helps keep the chip cool to avoid performance throttling. As if that’s not enough, the phone is also packaged with an additional snap-on cooling fan to further keep the chip’s temperature as low as possible.

The GT 50 Pro also packs the usual RGB lighting strips that all gaming phones seemingly requires, and a fast 144Hz OLED display with 1.5K resolution.

The software has been fine-tuned to offer native 144fps support for some key titles, including PUBG, and has a dedicated gaming space with custom wallpapers and control panels to further help gaming.

With 12GB of RAM and 6150mAh battery, the phone should provide enough memory and juice for gaming sessions. As usual with Infinix devices, the package includes a lot of accessories, including a tempered glass screen protector, wired earbuds, and fast charger.

The Infinix GT 50 Pro is looking like another enticing offering for those who like to play games on their phones but don’t want to pay top dollar.
