Police said they and the family were grateful to those who assisted in the search and responded to public appeals for information.
Green, 52, left his home in Brooklyn, on the outskirts of Motueka, about 3pm on Monday April 13, carrying a backpack.
Green was last seen the following day in the Herring Stream Rd area, where he spoke with a member of the public and said he intended to head towards Motueka.
